review by Side-Line:
"Laurent Delogne is Le Moderniste! Set up in 2006 this Belgian solo-project found its inspiration in the realms of industrial and powernoise. Le Moderniste claimed to be influenced by pioneers like Dive and Esplendor Geometrico. Most of the tracks indeed deal with a merciless and constant powernoise style. A few tracks like "Selfost" and "Skmm" are real cool pieces of furious powernoise. The "Deepthroat"-cut sounds in a similar vein, but also explores some noise fields. Le Moderniste definitely sounds more extreme than an artists like Dive while the softer parts of this album comes closer to the early work of Monolith. It's definitely more brutal and raw, as if they are punctuating the genre with their very own touch. The compositions were made with less material, but the Le Moderniste tortured his gear and tools to get the maximum out of it. A few more fascinating cuts emerge at the surface, sometimes revealing different influences. The "Humaine Ignorance"-track is one from the list, which let appear a vague d-n-b touch. Le Moderniste totally fits in the line of several Hands and/or Ant-zen projects, which I guess is more than a reference!
